PKL Received Notice of Award for O-Level Maintenance Support and Corrosion Abatement for 1st MAW MV-22 and C-130 at MAG-24 Located at MCAS Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii

PKL Services, Inc. (PKL) received notice of award from prime contractor, 4M HR Logistics that the team was the successful awardee of the 1st MAW MV-22 and C-130 O-Level Maintenance Support and Corrosion Abatement Task Order at MCAS Kaneohe Bay, HI.

The work for this Task Order, under the Contract Field Team (CFT) Program Office, will be to perform O-level Maintenance Support and Corrosion Abatement on MV-22 and C-130 aircraft located at MCAS Kaneohe (MAG-24).

PKL will deliver services via a team of 15 full time employees on the base contract. An additional 5 full time employees will join the team at the first option year.

This three-year opportunity (10 month base, plus two one-year options) will begin on 1 November 2024. The contract is anticipated to end by 31 August 2027.

PKL Completes Transition on New F-35 Corrosion Abatement Contract

We are now fully complete with our transition on the new stand-up F-35 O-Level Maintenance Support and Corrosion Abatement contract for 3RD MAW at MCAS Miramar, CA and MCAS Yuma, AZ. We are partnered with prime contractor, 4M HR Logistics, on this new contract and proud to welcome the new employees to PKL who will perform this critical maintenance for these aircraft.

Onboarding new employees and taking on a contract is always a big task – one that PKL does strategically and routinely. However, standing up a brand new contract and hiring a new workforce adds another level of demand and resources. We are grateful for our team of HR personnel, recruiting, and contracts management team who ensured the process went as smoothly as possible. We remain eager to provide seamless plus-ups and continue to perform on all of the deliverables of this contract.

PKL Completes Another Annual Red Flag Alaska Deployment

PKL annually participates in Red Flag – Alaska, a Pacific Air Forces-sponsored training deployment. Red Flag-Alaska is designed to provide realistic training essential to the success of air and space operations in a simulated combat environment.

This year, PKL deployed its largest contingent so far with 64 contractors heading to Eielson AFB, AK in support of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) for RED FLAG AK 24-2. Along with our customers, PKL Flightline Crew Chiefs assisted in the launch and recovery of 213 sorties for 542.1 hours flown. PKL Weapons and Munitions personnel prepared and supervised the loading of 10 munitions and over 5000 countermeasures that were expended for a 100% release rate. PKL Specialists worked tirelessly to repair aircraft in between sorties in preparation for the next air tasking order leading to a phenomenal 96.2% mission capable rate for the 14 aircraft deployed. Before, during and after the exercise, PKL Support and AGE personnel were instrumental in the coordinating and loading of 20 truckloads of equipment consisting of over 1100 items to support the flying operations at Eielson. All items were returned to Mountain Home AFB, ID and reconciled upon return with no missing items.

PKL Celebrates Singapore National Day with RSAF at Mountain Home AFB, ID

PKL’s CEO and Director of Air Force Programs recently spent time at Mountain Home AFB, ID attending the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) detachment’s Singapore National Day Celebration. This was the 59th annual celebration for Singapore. There was a welcoming ceremony for all the attendees which included all the Singapore service members and their families followed by celebrations for everyone to participate in.
 
Formerly a British colony, Singapore gained independence on the 9th of August 1965. Singaporeans celebrate this proud day by turning the island red and white, with flags outside buildings and homes. Mountain Home was no exception as a great time was had by all in attendance.
 
We appreciate the opportunity to have spent time with our customer and to experience their culture and traditions.
 
 
 
 

PKL Hosts Executives From Ghana for Leadership Training

Eight members of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) recently visited San Diego to attend PKL’s Executive Leadership Training Program, representing the second consecutive year an ECG cohort has attended the course. The ECG is a limited liability Company, wholly owned by the Government of Ghana and operating under the Ministry of Energy (ME), whose mission is to provide quality, reliable, and safe electricity services to support the socio-economic growth of Ghana.

For this week-long course, PKL created a bespoke program segmented into these four sections:

  • Leadership Foundations
  • Principles of Effective Management
  • Team Building
  • Principles of Effective Negotiations & Collaboration

PKL also provided methods for creating a mentorship program and a corporate talent strategy. In total, the ECG’s course contained twenty discrete modules and daily workshops designed to thoughtfully apply course principles to the ECG’s current challenges and opportunities.

PKL’s Maxwell Banful and Kim Robling, who together orchestrated the training, said, “For the past two years the ECG has sent their top leaders to our course, illustrating their commitment to excellence, to life-long learning, and a strong desire to cultivate a leadership ethos within the ECG.”

At the conclusion of the course, Mr. Kwadwo Ayensu Obeng, Deputy Managing Director for ECG, said, “I am highly satisfied with the training and the organization. The instructors were exceptional, effectively linking the material to our current situation, making it very relevant and practical.”

PKL Services, Inc. (PKL) is honored to have been recognized for another year by the VETS Indexes Employer Award program for our dedication to veteran hiring practices. PKL Services, Inc. (PKL) received notice of award from prime contractor, 4M HR Logistics that the team was the successful awardee of the 3RD MAW F-35 O-Level Maintenance Support and Corrosion Abatement contract at MCAS Miramar CA and MCAS Yuma, AZ.

The work for this Task Order, under the Contract Field Team (CFT) Program Office, will be to perform O-level Maintenance support and Corrosion Abatement on F-35 aircraft located at MCAS Miramar (MAG-11) and MCAS Yuma (MAG-13).

PKL will deliver services via a team of 23 full time employees at the Miramar location and 23 full time employees at the Yuma location.

PKL’s CEO, Mike Naylor, shared “We are proud to take on the work for this new contract and to support the F-35 team. This is critical maintenance for these aircraft and PKL is honored to bring our expertise and experience to this new contract requirement.”

PKL Sponsors Commissioning of USS John L. Canley

March 1, 2024

PKL was proud to sponsor the commissioning of the USS John L. Canley (ESB-6), the fourth Expeditionary Sea Base ship commissioned and the first named after a Medal of Honor recipient.

SgtMaj Canley was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during a 7-day period (31 January to 6 February 1968) of intense combat in Hue City, Republic of Vietnam while assigned to Alpha Company 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division.

The ship was constructed in San Diego, California by the National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASCO). The Commissioning Ceremony was attended by the 78th Secretary of the Navy, The Honorable Carlos Del Toro along with former 19th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and 36th Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen Joe Dunford, USMC (Ret).We had a couple of PKL personnel, including our CEO, attend the commissioning ceremony and we are honored to have received a number of commemorative items to celebrate this event.
